About Jerrod
Jerrod Shouse began his career with six years on the staff of Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating. He served as the governor’s personal assistant and accompanied him across Oklahoma and the nation to share his vision and agenda, and to promote Oklahoma as a destination for growing, expanding or relocating businesses. Additionally, Jerrod served as a policy advisor to the governor on a variety of issues, including education, economic development, transportation, and energy. Jerrod served in the Keating Administration from 1997 to 2003.
Later, Jerrod served at the University of Oklahoma where he was appointed by OU President David Boren to serve as university press secretary. In this role Jerrod acted as the spokesperson for Boren and the entire university to local, state, and national media. While serving as press secretary, Jerrod served a dual role at OU as special assistant to the president for university outreach, which gave him additional duties in the areas of state legislative relations, university fundraising and alumni relations.
Jerrod is active in the Oklahoma City civic community. He is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City and is a member of the Rotary Club of Oklahoma City, the state’s largest and oldest civic club. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City, the Second Century Board of the Oklahoma Heritage Association, the Education and Workforce Development Committee at the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Downtown Club of Oklahoma City. He was recently named an “Achiever Under 40″ by the Journal Record, and “Forty Under 40″ by OKC Business magazine.
He is a native of Grove, is a fifth generation Oklahoman, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he earned a B.A. in public affairs and administration. Jerrod is married to Jamie Mozola Shouse, an attorney, and they have two daughters, Avery and Claire.
